U is not in the word at all.
A repeated letter is only marked as many times as it actually appears. Guess ALLOY when the word is ALIGN and only the first L lights up.
A new word appears every day at midnight, and everyone gets the same one.
Hard mode can only be changed before your first guess of the day.
